The Site
Our allotment is 70ft by 14ft on a gentle slope.
We think its Northwest- ish facing. It seems to get plenty of sun at the moment.
Its on the edge of the site with a Rhine/dyke/ditch at the bottom.
It is in Somerset on the edge of the Levels, less than a mile from were they extract peat, so hopefully the soil is good! On initial inspection of the dry potato bed it looks like it might be sandy.
The other plots on the site look very productive.
Our plot came with a shed and a water-but and has been fenced off.
