Welcome to our website about two clueless women and their Allotment adventures.

We got our allotment on the 1st August 2011. With a combined knowledge of gardening that could be written on the back of a postage stamp, seriously!

We know it involved putting seeds in the ground at the right time of year, watering and weeding. That was our sum knowledge!

After seeing our allotment a week before we could take it over, we trawled the internet, the local library and Amazon and read a lot of confusing and conflicting advice.
Nothing was for absolute beginers. 'Remove all perennial weeds' books say. um...what is a perennial weed, what does it look like and how do you remove it?
Books also had pretty diagrams showing when to sow and when to plant. But what is the difference? aren't they the same?

Eventually with a vague plan of Permaculture, no-dig and Organic we set out.
